I’m currently taking 300mg of Olaparib per day and am experiencing gastric discomfort and feelings of …
.Wanting to burp but nothing happens .Something lodged in my food pipe (there isn’t and no problems with swallowing) . . A hollow feeling in my stomach
I have been taking Omeprazole for reflux for several years, the dose was increased to 20mg twice a day several months ago but it doesn’t help with these symptoms.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? If so I’d love to hear how this was remedied.
Thank you
Lisa

Yes I seem to recall that feeling Alfiepop. I think your system will gradually get used to it. I used to try to eat little and often, never get too empty. Bananas seemed to help.
You can take gaviscon if that eases it too. Hope it gives up soon and allows you to feel better xx
If you have just started, I do recall that it took me about 4 months and 2 dosage changes (not for this not due to blood count issues) to get adjusted to olaparib. Feeling queasy or bloated was common for me. I did not take any medicines though. But did change my diet to be more healthy and smaller portion size several times a day.
yes this side affect comes and goes along with being unable to swallow whilst drinking causing, choking and splattering and comes from know where 😅.. Hiccups is another. I would mention it to your team so they are aware. It’s just trial and error. Maybe try peppermint tea or gaviscon .
