Am stage 4a and have had debulking surgery and chemo. Took Niraparib for a year but it stopped working and I had spread to my liver. I finished 6 rounds of chemo late Oct and had bloods and a CT scan. Chemo has shrunk the cancer in my liver so that was good news. My oncologist who I respect suggested I have a break and I agreed. I have a phone appointment with him on 10th Jan to as he said, discuss further options. Am having bloods and a scan early Jan.
Are my further options just more chemo. I doubt that I’ll be offered another parp. Has anyone else been here? Any advice? Many thanks and best wishes to all for Christmas

Hello Skyeplus, I was in a similar position to you last year. Went on a trial at the Royal Marsden. This was Olaparib plus a booster drug which made it work again.
My particular trial worked very well for the cancer but it made me ill so I had to stop but I met a number of patients there who were having a better response and keeping cancer free.
This is probably the only way to get a Parp inhibitor again.
I shall watch with interest. Soon to be finishing six rounds of chemo for recurrence and also having a break. I hope you live nearer one of these trial centres than I do.
I live in Lincolnshire so if any of the major centres I have to travel. Fingers crossed for both of us that there is an opportunity to try something. I suspect I won’t be able to have a parp again but you never know. Mine is progression …it’s in my peritoneum liver and spleen. I am not giving in though. Sending love ❤️
