Olaparib side effects - cough and breathlessness

Hi all. I've been taking Olaparib since May this year and have had a constant cough and breathlessness. It's getting me down a bit and I was wondering if anyone else has had this side effect and how long it lasted x

Thank you for sharing your experience here. I'm sorry to hear that your cough and breathlessness are causing you to feel low. Hopefully some of our members who have taken Olaparib and may have experienced these side effects will comment on your post soon.

We do know that coughing and breathlessness are common side effects of Olaparib; more than 10% of women taking this medication note these effects. We would recommend speaking to your clinical team or GP about these side effects and mentioning that they are getting you down. It may be that they can prescribe or recommend a medication or treatment that will help to manage these, or review the dosage of Olaparib that you are taking. If your breathlessness becomes severe, you should call 999.
