Well, the gift that keeps giving….I ended up at my local hospital Monday afternoon !
After the morning CT , I went home… had a call an hour or so later, saying I needed to go in as they’ve found a pulmonary embolism on my lung and it needs treating!! I had an ECG, and blood tests..
I have to take Apixaban (blood thinners) tablets for 6 weeks/long term, and the Gynae team will discuss anything else if necessary, after todays meeting to discuss the full CT report
Hope the PE is treatable and hope it’s not related to my Gynae stuff…. Though frankly, I’m completely fed up with one thing after another !
I’ll update you later with results….

So sorry to hear you have the PE as well as coping with everything else There is an association between thromboembolism and ovarian ca particularly e.g.clear cell ovarian ca. I had prophylactic Clexane for 4 weeks after the big op But having said that Blood clots are common anyway for all sorts of reasons Surgery itself being a risk factor Your medical team will be able to treat this. It is just such extra annoyance for you having to get this sorted as well You will get through this Sending you positive thoughts xx
Thank you! Yes it seems this surgery-related, so I’ll go with that unless something else crops up! CT was clear, and I have my surgery date for end of May, to let the new meds have an effect. Xx
