I know you've all been sitting on the edge of your seats and having sleepless nights wondering when I would ever get my CA125 results. Well, you can relax at last because after 6 weeks all but 2 days, I've finally got them (yippee) and all, as expected, is well. I'm still level 8 which I've been for 8 years. The point is the doctor suggested I have the test every 6 months to put my mind at rest but then doesn't give me the results. I'm grateful that I get the test so don't get me wrong but he hung on to them for nearly 4 weeks and all I wanted to know was how much they may have risen.
Anyway, enough of me, I do hope you are all doing as well as you possible can and for those not so well at the moment, keep your chins up and know that there is a lot of hope for the future. Science is improving all the time and I've seen many new things since I was first diagnosed.
All the best to everyone. Zena xx

That was a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait for the result! Great that it’s a good result, though. All’s well that ends well. 8 years is superb!
Considering I get mine either the same day or the next it does seem like it. It feels cruel in a way because regardless you feel well etc it does play on yr mind.
stopped checking my CA125 cos it has seemingly shot up & I’ve never felt better!!! How does one account for that? Results are, OC still there but for now, no chemo, only Letrozole !!!! Am going with the flow, Iside xx

We can definitely do this Sheila. I'm a very positive minded person thank goodness. Congratulations on your great granddaughter. I was a late starter and so was my daughter so my grandchildren have only just started school. Best wishes, Love Zena xx
Great news Zena but I would have gone crazy if it took that long to get results. No excuse for that. We are very fortunate here - bloodwork, CT scans etc., are delivered in our charts within 24 hours here.
I agree, the waiting is awful. Even though I wasn't expecting bad news. What's the point of a blood test? It could have risen. I was continually on the phone asking for the results just to be told if there is anything wrong he will ring me. I secretly thought he'd lost them. x
that is ridiculous and almost cruel. Ask him why this is happening and that you need to see them right away. Mine are available a few hours later, but I go to a big Cancer Center w a medical portal system.
I’m so pleased you have got your results now . The doctors don’t seem to understand how we worry until we know the results. I am on holiday for 4 weeks in Greece and had covid while we are here . I decided to have my bloods tested at the lab in the village as I was feeling so tired after the covid. I added the ca125 to the list and 3 hours later the results were all back for 15 euros! All my results were fine , so it’s just rest for me . I think I will have all my blood tests here in future!
That's great. I can't understand why it takes so long here. I'd gladly pay a few pounds for my blood test but I expect if they did it here it would cost a lot higher. I'm pleased everything was okay for you and enjoy the rest of your holiday. x
Hi Zena that is good news thank god you have got them. Just wanted to ask you a question - since finishing my chemo last November my Ca 125 went down to 6 and the latest is 11 nearly a year on. Did yours fluctuate at all ? I know I should be worried if it goes over 35 and am no where near that but it does make you worry when it doesnt stay the same and gradually rising.
That is exactly why I wanted to know my result, just to see if it was rising, regardless of if it was in the danger area. We all worry about it. In answer to your question, mine has been 7 or 8 for the last 8 years, no fluctuation. Obviously, I don't know what happens between blood tests but I shouldn't think it changes much. I think if mine started to rise I'd ask for more frequent blood tests. Fingers crossed yours will go down next time. xx
