Yesterday I had a weekly dose of chemo. but unfortunately the 2nd dose was cancelled due to blood count the 1st dose I asked about my cfcs injection s to bulid my immune system up any way I had discuss this yesterday. if I had injection to come away with as last time I had to go back and get them they said I had not got any put on the chart so when I got home I phoned the support no to ask them said they will have a word with the chemo nurse to speak to the doctor but I had a chemo nurse telling me I should not phone when I was already told I did not have any and do not phone that number phone the red card I felt well and truly told off .but for them forgetting the injections and forgetting to let me know that the chemo was cancelled where do go now if they give the phone number clinical nurse for me to phone

Oh, I feel for you, going thru enough without being told off! Try and ignore, perhaps they were having a bad day/Under pressure. Other option is to run your concerns past PALS? Sending you a big hug x

I agree with Katmal, no one should be told off for asking for something they understand is part of treatment. Could someone pursue this on your behalf with your CNS or oncologist’s secretary? xx

so sorry to hear, of course you should ask, I always ask when not if mistakes are made. I’m being treated at a great place but prior to that big mistakes were made, If hadn’t asked I wouldn’t be here! And now even in the best of places small mistakes can occur. Please don’t stop asking if you need to. As for being told off for asking, that’s not acceptable and nor is it ok for them, if I’ve understood your post right to forget your injections which seem to have caused a delay in your treatment. Wishing you well and much better soon and letting you know you definitely didn’t do anything wrong.

thanks for getting back to me since I put my comment on here I had a development because not having the I next injections I ended up phoning 111 ending up going to hospital with a chest infection out of hours doctor gave me antibiotics then the red card nurse rang me the next day to make sure I had got seen too. Then two days later suprise I got phone call from chemo nurse to say to go and collect cfgs injections I then went to see my consultant next day anyway he then cancelled my chemo because of infection and I told him about being told off by nurse he has now made sure that I get my injections and also I had a chest x-ray and then my practice nurse also phoned to make sure I had enough antibiotics just goes to show if I have not phoned 111 I would not have the attention

definitely complain to your hospital’s PALS service.and carry on asking.

No, you are not in the wrong and I'm horrified to hear that you were treated like that. Email PALS as a matter of urgency and say that you were told that you needed the CSF injection, soit should have been provided. Sending hugs!
