Hi , just wondering how others are feeling after taking Topotecan

My partner had his first 5 days of taking this drug and he is completely knocked out, no energy and sleeping in the chair a lotduring the day and very moody

This is not him at all as always doing things and on the go , never tired normally, is this normal when taking Topotecan as really worried about him

I'm sorry but not heard of this drug as only familiar with drugs used for ovarian cancer.This site is primarily used for ladies with ovarian cancer so there may be another site where you may be able to get help and advice.

Hi, My wide is currently having Topetecan. It’s being used for her ovarian cancer although is usually used for lung cancer. It’s been really difficult for her to tolerate. I recognise the symptoms you’re describing. We’re at the half way point, having had 3 lots of the 5 day treatments. They had to stop the last one after 3 days as her Hb levels dropped and she passed out. A couple of weeks later and still not fully recovered even after a blood transfusion. It’s a hard regime for sure, and we have had numerous to compare to.

Sorry not able to share anything more positive. Be prepared for lots of rest to try and keep strong during the treatment. All the best. 🌼
