Hi thereSorry to hear of your pain. For chemo bone pain I took Loratadine 10mg,which is an antihistamine you can pick up from the supermarket.I think it did help with the pain. Also a high strength quality cbd oil taken several times a day.
Aww that’s great to hear I am so glad it helped you.I found that you do have to take it daily and start it 2 or 3 days before chemo day and again after for a few days.x
Hi, I’m allergic to codeine but Thankyou, there was a suggestion I could have less than the 5 injections if the pain was too much so I am being monitored x
I'm sorry your in pain, when I was in pain I took Oramorph plus paracetamol and found the combination worked well, I didn't need it for long. Hope you get on top of it soon. Sue xx
HiSue, I think I had oramorph pre surgery, used to knock me out for a few hours but at least that snuffed out the pain. The pain does seem less today and I’ve tried the loratadine this morning x
Thankyou for the suggestion, if I need the injections for my next cycle , just have 1 more tomorrow , I’ll look them up, do you get them prescribed or pick them up at a chemist? X
Keep up with paracetamol, and add ibuprofen in between doses - so if you take 4 x 2 paracetamol at 10am, 4pm, 10pm and 4am, then you take the ibuprofen at the halfway intervals so, 1pm, 7pm, 1am, 7am. Obviously those timings can be played around with, but what it helps to do is ensure that your pain never really peaks, but is kept at a manageable level. I've had pain with this before and am not allowed to take ibuprofen so was stuck with paracetamol (which didn't really help me) or cocodamol (which worked, but knocked me flat out!). I hope you find a solution x
Behind the curve here, but I used to work for the company that makes G-CSF and the recommendation was to use loratadine (Clarityn) for bone pain. It's unclear why it works better than ordinary painkillers, but it appears to do so. Hope you're feeling better today.
