how come my markers are up so quickly again and not even been 3 months yet since chemo finished ;( I've always been double figures now i'm 3 :( I wonder if the pain in my ribs and sternum have anything to do with it or perhaps the pain is more tumours popped up there that weren't there before ;(

Hi Melnie I think there’s always a bit of bumping about as your immune system recovers from its bashing by chemo. I would give it the benefit of the doubt for now. As for the strange rib/sternum pain…I recognise that! Had it after both chemo…no idea why but it doesn’t signal a relapse in my experience xx

Hi! My 125 has crept up since Oct when I finished chemo but hospital not conerned and onc said it "flutters". It is still in the normal range. Re rib pain, I experienced that too, moving from side to side, going for weeks and coming and going. Again onc not concerned as bloodtests all okay and feel okay. Your CNS can reassure you - they are brilliant. X

Thank you for replying yes my CNS has called me for urgent CT scan now even though I had one end of April, not long ago, my breathing hurts when I take deep inhale but just figured I had pulled a muscle somewhere cos my marker suddenly shot up I'm really worried now as she said urgently to come in for CT scan :(

Hi Melnie,Did.you have the vaccine by any chance, because it did effect my CA125 tests but had it done the following month and it had gone down again. Just ask your oncologist and get help and advice put your mind at ease. Try not too worry

Hi Melanie , I had the rib pain and sternum was sore to touch . It was something called costochondritis . Nothing to do with cancer. Your scan will put your mind at rest .x

oh that will be great if it's nothing to do with cancer thank you but it doesn't explain why the markers have suddenly shot up to 3 figures so quickly after the chemo but thank you :)
