Hello All,

We are preparing a submission for the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) regarding NHS approval of olaparib in combination with avastin.

It would be really helpful if any of you who are taking or have taken olaparib in combination with avastin have comments you'd be willing for us to share in our submission. We wouldn't use your name or any identifying details.

You can private message us through this forum or email me at i.stone@ovacome.org.uk

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Imogen

Hi Lyndy

It would be wonderful to hear from members in Scotland, but we would welcome comments from anyone who has had this treatment.

Best wishes

Hello from Melbourne, Australia. After being diagnosed in December 2016, 3months chemo, Carbo/taxol I had surgery removing ovaries, tubes, spleen, womb, debunking, part of my bowel leaving me with stoma. Then after 6 weeks recovery I started again on my chemo for another 3 months when then included Avastin for 9 months This kept me stable for two and a half years. I have since had stoma reversal, very successful, and two recurrences involving more chemo, Carbo/Gemcitabine. Started on Olaparib 8 capsules twice a day. That lasted about 12 months then my CA125 crept up to 38 from a low of 11. My cancer had returned to my abdomen again with little spots all over the walls of my abdomen and a 7cm tumour also. My oncologist was very surprised at the amount of cancer considering my relatively low CA125 reading. Back onto chemo again from October 2020 until January 2021, back to Carbo/taxol. This time chemo really knocked me about, nerve damage to my feet, very tired etc. I had not experienced that with my treatment before. I started on Avastin infusion once every 4 weeks and Olaparib 2 100ml capsules twice daily mid February 2021 and have had no side effects, all very well tolerated. My CA125 readings have been stable at 11 - 12, No problems with bloods or organs at all. Hopefully this may help with your research. Any further information needed I am happy to help. Gail
