Sick 2 weeks after surgery

Hi everyone

My mum had her surgery 2 weeks on Tuesday and last night started with stomach cramps and being sick. Did anyone else get this?

She thinks she may have got a bug but has hardly seen anyone to catch it off

Is she constipated? If she’s not passing at all this could lead to pain and sickness and needs professional help!

Hi. If my mum is poorly, I call the dr (unless it is so blatantly something simple we can manage at home). My view is better safe and err on the side of caution.

Do you have a helpline you can call? Or try 111 and they can advise. Personally, I would make a call.

Thank you both of you. I told her to call 111 and they advised she goes to A&E so I’ve just dropped her off. She is constipated apart from diarrhoea

Glad you’ve found help & advice. I know the surgery can disrupt normal bowel patterns. Hopefully the hospital can find out what’s causing her to feel so sick & get it sorted so she can feel more comfortable.
