Is Niraparib the same as Olaparib (Lynparza) one is a brand name. This is an AstraZeneca made drug???
I am on Olaparib. It sounds very much the same as my blood count dropped all the time. I’ve been on it since the end October 2020.

In the states, Zejula is the brand name for Niraparib. It is also a parp inhibitor, but different from Olaparib.

Hi. As Sashay said they are both PARP inhibitors but have some differences. There are three PARPs used for ovarian cancer: Olaparib (Lynparza), Niraparib (Zejula), and rucaparib (Rubraca). I believe in the UK Olaparib is used for BRCA positive people and the other two for non BRCA people. They have similar mechanisms but different dosages.
Niraparib is now used for non BRCA ladies in the England & Wales, but but was originally used only for BRCA positive as that's the group it's proved very effective for. I have the BRCA2 mutation and I've been on Niraparib since before it was licenced in the UK, as part of the Expanded Access Program which is the stage after clinical trials.
