Hi I’m looking for any advice or any experiences of the same , have lower back pain anyway due to an existing back complaint but last few weeks it has become a dull ache , plus the last few weeks I’ve had this sharp pain to the left hand side below the bikini line , difficulty going no 2 plus I have this sensation of something being very tight at the very top of my legs and around my lady bits - an aching dragging feeling . I’m also passing urine more frequently, particularly when I’m laying down , feel nauseated all the time and tired , I’m waiting to talk to the consultant on Thursday but any advice before then , I’m 47 years old and obviously worried - I’m sorry if this is not the write place to post this but unsure what to do , Cath

Hi CathAs I learned to my cost.. you should always take your body’s signals seriously. Particularly changes in bowel habit. You are doing the right thing in getting a doctor to check you over... be persistent, it may be nothing but you need to know xx

Dear Cath, I second Lyndy's advice to be *persistent* in seeking real help and getting to the bottom of the trouble, whatever it is and whatever you fear. The symptoms of ovarian cancer can be very similar to other diseases - it is a sneaky thing. I've separately had both serious bowel issues and ovarian cancer, and the initial symptoms of each were strikingly similar. For ovarian, there is unfortunately no definitive diagnostic test, but make sure they do a CA125 test on your blood (your dr will certainly order blood work and other labs) as that can be an indicator. Take care and best wishes! Deb in Colorado

Hi Cath. I agree with the others. You have to be persistent. My gp dismissed my pelvic pain and So I went to a gynecologist who ordered a transvaginal ultrasound which showed a 10 cm complex cyst- turned out to be 3b hgs OC. You have to be your own advocate! I hope it’s not cancer.
