Having my de-bulking operation this week on December 23rd! Just wondering what your experiences are regarding the vaginal cuff and what if any after care/ check ups are required.
Thanks so much

The vaginal cuff is a result of and part of the full hysterectomy. Once the cervix is removed along with the uterus, both parts of the vagina are sewn together. I have had one and no specific follow-ups are usually required and no bleeding, afterwards, is anticipated.
I wish you very well with the surgery and a smooth and speedy recovery. Take care.
I agree with Newbie_2020. I would add that I did have a slight discharge for a time which did not concern my doctor. It gradually disappeared. However, it would return if I did too much running about, including driving or riding over pothole ridden streets. The discharge would return, I would curse myself, then back off my activities and the discharge would dissipate again. I did use very thin sanitary pads during the first few weeks after my surgery. Post-op is no cakewalk, but you will manage. I hope all goes smoothly for you and that you recover quickly. Merry Christmas and Best Holiday Wishes from Louisiana,

Thankyou so much any information is good xThis time tomorrow I will be at the hospital, have butterflies already x
Good luck tomorrow. It’s a big surgery but once the first two days are past in a blur of painkillers you will get a bit better every day. You’ll be starting the new year with hopefully all the cancer removed. Sending hugs!
