I am due to have my last chemo an the fourth of January, then after a scan, have an appointment with my onc to discuss going on a PARP.
The thing is, I thought PARPS should be started four to six weeks after finishing chemo, and my appointment will be eight weeks since completion. Is this too long? I am concerned that the cancer will get a hold again during the interim.

Thank you for your question. The current guidance is that the "Patient is currently less than 8 weeks from the date of the last infusion of the last cycle of the 2nd or subsequent line of platinum-based chemotherapy." (p. 5, Managed Access Agreement, Cancer Drugs Fund - this is from the rucaparib guidance but the 8 week guideline also applies to olaparib and niraparib).
It is likely that your consultant has factored these timescales into the scheduling of your appointments, but you could call them to check if you are concerned?
I hope you might find some helpful information within our recent post on targeted therapies: healthunlocked.com/ovacome/...
