Just what I didn't need.

Good evening lovely ladies ( and gents). I hope that things are going as well as possible for you.

I'm afraid that circumstances have meant that I am not going to be eligible for the trial at Oxford. I was admitted into hospital a week ago in a lot of pain. They thought I had a bowel obstruction and put me on iv fluids and nil by mouth. After another CT scan they realised that one of my pelvic masses has grown to 10cm and is pressing against my rectum on one side and my bladder on the other. Needless to say the last 16 weeks of paclitaxel have not worked. I just hope that the radiotherapy shrinks the tumour a bit and helps things move along.

So sorry about your news. I’m keeping everything crossed that radiation will shrink the tumor and make you comfortable! Sending hugs.

Bless you Sian. I really feel for you. Just hoping your radiotherapy shrinks that shitty tumour & you can start feeling better very soon 🙏🏽

Take good care lovely lady xx

Oh Sian, sorry to hear this. Hoping they can zap the tumour and make you feel more comfortable. You must be exhausted with the difficult time you've been having this year.

Sending a gentle hug.

When do you start radiotherapy? If it’s successful in relieving your symptoms, would you be eligible to join the trial then?

Good luck and I hope you start to feel better soon.

Sorry to hear this Sian. I do know that radiotherapy can be really successful-my husband had a 10cm tumour in the esophagus and the radiotherapy zapped it completely, it’s a tiring regime, but I’m keeping everything crossed for you.

Sending hugs

I’m gutted for you, it feels like you just navigate one hurdle then bam 💥 there’s another one to face.

Radiotherapy helped my brother after he had throat cancer, I’m sure you will come through the other side, it’s knocked your trial back and your confidence but maybe going forward when it’s done it’s job you could try to join the trial again.

One step at a time, it’s hard, I know.

You are stronger than you know .... you can do it !

Thinking of you, big hugs 🤗

Wishing you well

Hi Sian,

So sorry to hear your news.

Oh total crap. Feel for you. All power to the radiotherapy xx

This is really distressing news. I’m So sorry Welshandproud. Thank God (or the NHS) have an answer for you. I hope everything starts working for you pretty soon.

Caelyx reduces my 12 cm tumour to 5cm earlier this year. Rucaparib didn’t work.

I’m starting Taxol tomorrow for 18 weeks so hopefully it will work for me and the other ladies going down the same path.

Lots and lots of love and care. You can do it. You’re Welsh and proud.

Sorry to hear your disappointing news Sian, thoughts and prayers that the radiotherapy will work , Taxol didn’t work for me second time around but my oncologist came up with one I’ve not heard of on this site, vinorelbine and Avastin, at the moment it seems to be keeping me stable until a trial comes up at the Marsden 🙏🏻

Thinking of you and wishing you the very best

Hello Sian - I am sure that came as devastating news regarding the trial, however once they have the tumour under control can you re-apply for the trial?

That's disappointing news, Sian. :( Keeping my fingers crossed though that your innards will calm down again and hope you are getting something to help with the discomfort.

Radical surgery is not an option?

Thinking of you. xx. Maus
