Hi. I haven’t been there yet but that plan sounds reasonable. I’m not sure why cisplatin if you are platinum resistant but others would know. Do you know if your cancer is hormone receptor positive or BRCA positive? You would probably do well to look at trials. I’m in the States but my cancer center (Dana Farber) only does trials on platinum resistant and refractory OC.

Suggest looking into clinical trials as well. Being chemo resistant opens the doors to a lot of trials.

Not sure I would be eligible as Im 77 but a fit one considering... do you know the protocol for Parps?..do you need to have a biopsy of the cancerous tissue?? .. Im Bracca negative ..sorry don’t know much about parps😜

Hello Rossnbren, don’t worry about your age, ever. I’m 76 and will do anything and try anything to get through stage 3 OC . I’ve had 2 recurrences in the last 2 years. Carbo/Caelyx reduced my tumours by 2/3rds. I’m now on a parp Rucaparib which is showing good results. This tablet has kept my cancer at bay for 5 months although my CA 125 is slowly rising. A recent CT scan showed no Growth. However something is happening somewhere.

I wish you all the very best,

We all have a lot of living to do.

Love from Angela xx

Thanks Angela I needed that...starting Gem and Caelyx on Tues for 2 recurrence. Did they have to do a biopsy of your tumour before you went on a parp?

All the best to you too.. big hugs .. Brenda

No biopsy Brenda just a partial response from chemo. Caelyx can be harsh but have plenty of strong mouthwash and moisturiser ready from the beginning. Plus plenty of laxatives, ice lolly’s and cold drinks. I had to have Caelyx reduced to 70% but we’re all different. The side effects maybe less severe for you. I learned how to combat the side effects after the 3rd infusion and coped with it Pretty well after that. I’ve asked if I can have it again if necessary. We all have our off days both young and not so young but with the help and input from the more experienced ladies on here you’ll get through it again.

Lots of love and all the very best from Angela xx
