Hi I have just started Carbo/Caelyx as second line treatment and 7 days in experiencing high pitched whistling and rushing in my ears. Has anyone experienced tinnitus as s side effect?

Many thanks

On this regime and was told a potential side effect was "deafness, and it's permanent". Please follow this up with your CNS!

Yes after carbo/taxel. It faded gradually but still returns when I am very tired. I would def report to your CNS xx

I had my first treatment on this on Friday but no ringing ears yet. Can I jump on the bandwagon and ask about any other side effects. On the whole it seems to be fatigue for me.

I got this from carbo taxol and it may have gotten worse with carbo caelyx. You definitely should tell your oncologist.

I had deafness in my right ear during it, but it has since got better. Call your CNS just to be sure x

hello, I just wondered whether you have had ear problems before? I have had the same as you... a sudden loud noise in my ear (which woke me up) and quite sharp pain, however I have always had ear problems, excema and also a build up of wax. I only had the noise once or twice so my oncologiost isn't worried and suggested I have my ears checked, which I did, and needed the wax removed. I would imagine if you have it continually, it would be more serious.
