This is a helpful summary of the PARP inhibitors available currently and some interesting studies and trials of combination therapies. It also talks about many more tumours that have genetic defects beyond the BRCA mutations which may make disease more susceptible to PARP inhibitors. Has anyone had more genetic tests for HRD done beyond BRCA. The one it talks about here is called Myriad myChoice CDx.
Makes for interesting and uplifting reading. I trialled Avastin in 2007/08 and currently am on a trial for Olaparib (6 years 2 months so far!). Great news potentially for everyone! xx Kathy xx
Thank you for this. Although I do not qualify for parps as did not respond to frontline chemo I am interested in the new combinations being trialled that may make them work for those of us who are platinum resistant.
Hi. I’m in the US and have been tested as HRD positive and I have the PALB2 mutation which is linked to BRCA2 in the dna replication process. It also gives you a high chance of getting breast cancer and pancreatic cancer but they don’t know much about it. I’ll be going on Olaparib in a month or so after I finish caelyx carbo for first recurrence. My insurance initially turned it down probably because I am BRCA negative but accepted it on appeal.
