That lack of joined-up-ness of the NHS

I'm home currently recuperating from my surgery, have had my chemo start date confirmed to be January 3, 1.30pm, so far so good. CT scan was proposed for this evening - unthinkable to try and get myself to and from hospital in the evening, so that's postponed till the morning of December 24th. All well and good. Then, in the mail today, I get an appointment for kidney function test. What have they done? 10.30am on January 3rd, and you have follow-up bloods 2 and 4 hours later. Yeah, if they come and find me on the chemo ward. For heaven's sake! Just for starters, THAT test is meant to confirm I'm good to start chemo. Can they not co-ordinate themselves???

Unfortunately admin errors are the one spoke in the wheel for me too. I've recently been on a trial and everything ran so much more smoothly because of the trial nurse coordinating everything like clockwork. If only there was more money to provide this kind of service in mainstream NHS. Xx

It might just mean that you start your chemo later that day.

I'm so sorry for you and understand your frustration! I do hope things work out for you and you can relax on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Hopefully you won't feel too poorly for a few days so will be able to enjoy the Holiday time.

Love and Best Wishes, Solange. 😊🎄💐
