Hi everyone thank you so much for your replies to my last post. I've had a difficult few weeks coming off the steroids and Niraparib including a suspected blood clot at one point, but some good news today. I don't need to start chemo until January. My Ca125 has gone up to 166 and the cancer is definitely growing but my oncologist has told me to have a great Christmas and New year and to have chemo afterwards. I am delighted that this is possible.
On another note my GP did some bloods for my underactive thyroid which I have done annually. This time my levels have changed and I need to have my levothyrocine medication increased. I wonder whether it is related to the chemo drugs or the Niraparib. Possibly another reason I've been feeling so tired!
Sending my love to all of my teal friends on this site.

Glad you get to enjoy Christmas without chemo. I have an underactive throid and take 100mg thyroxine, have done for the last 17 years though it was reduced for a while but then increased back up. Hopefully yours will settle soon. Have a great Christmas xx Kathy xx
Hi I have taken thyroxine for about 20years and always took 100 when I had chemo I had to increase it to 120. Have a lovely christmas and I am in the same boat as you seeing oncologist beginning of January and then probably starting chemo again. Lots of christmas love and hugs to all on here xx
That's interesting that you had to take a higher dose of levothyroxine too. I took a lower dose for about 15 years but the treatment seems to have taken its toll on the thyroid. Let me know how your appointment goes in January. Sending you best wishes for a lovely Christmas xxxxx
Have a wonderful Christmas Sian then gird your loins for the next chapter. Sending positive thoughts and hugs and strength πͺπ»πͺπ»πͺπ»π€π»π€π»
Such good news Sian that you can have a Christmas without the dreaded awful chemo feelings and I hope that when it starts in the new year that it does a proper job for you. I hope the thyroid issues are easily sorted.
Take lots of care over the festive season and be ready to go into 2020 for decisive action to be taken against the bugger, Love and hugs to you lovely lady and all your nearest and dearest β€οΈXx Jane
The low thyroid levels could easily have been making you tired. You will soon know shortly after you up the tablets. I felt a distinct difference after about 9 days when I upped my levothyroxine at one point
Thanks Julie. I was feeling a lot better before I took the Letrozole so I'm hoping that I'll start feeling a bit more back to normal now that I've stopped taking them. I wish you a very happy Christmas xxxx
Hi Sian. Sorry to hear youβve had a few problems, but delighted for you that you can have Christmas chemo-free. Do please enjoy it all! I, too, was expecting to start weekly taxol in the New Year, but my oncologist told me on Friday that I should start before Christmas, so Iβm quite upset by that. Take care and have a wonderful time. Despite the oncologist preferring to start before Christmas, the hospital cannot put a Hickman line in until the 8 January so, like you, I start taxol on the 10th. Am seriously not looking forward to either event. Have been very low and not tapping into the forum recently as I was really struggling with it all. Hope you have a lovely Christmas and good luck in January. Thinking of you. Love Carolyn xx
