Morning all has anybody heard of a company in Cambridge called oncologica apparently they can test the biopsy originally taken and tell you the best targeted drug for your specific cancer.

Any help would be appreciated

Love Ali xx

Hi, Yes I have read up about them some while ago, but have not investigated further as it is quite expensive. I think they test from the slides done in histology.

I to would be interested if anyone else has actually had this done.

Hi,

Yes I have heard if them and enquired, about £1.5k for test. Roche in Switzerland apparently have developed a tumour testing kit which they have just started marketing. I enquired about the sample they require but it was a bit technical for me. I think if you are having a new tumour tested it is best to inform surgeon before they take a biopsy/remove disease. However it appears tumour profiling is a good way to go if you are looking for a more targeted treatment. Any more information (technical) would be good, please post

Hi I have cervical cancer I used oncologica when there were no more treatment options for me. They were fantastic so helpful and thanks to the results I had from there test was able to get on an immunotherapy trial my tumour reduced by 40% and is still shrinking and I feel fantastic after thinking I wouldn't last much past last Christmas. I can't recommend Oncologica enough if I hadn't had that test I wouldn't be here today.

Hi no once I got the information back from oncologica I went back to my oncologist who referred me to The Christies in Manchester where I got the trail treatment on the NHS. I think they can get the biopsy from then you would have to speak to oncologica Kitty there is extremely helpful and would be glad to talk to you. Good luck.

Was your genetic testing done from blood only? If so, get your tumor tissue tested! It is not uncommon to be found somatic (acquired) BRCA + from the removed cancer! This info increases your treatment options.
