I want to thank all the people I met yesterday at the members day, for a lovely day out - old friends, new friends and inspirational experts. I had a great journey home (apart from the fact that I got soaked because I chose to walk to Euston)!
I was hemmed in my seat on the train by two large chaps who proceeded to crack open their not inconsiderable stash of beer - they had been for a tour around Twickenham and had probably been on the juice since lunchtime! It turned out they were absolutely hilarious - they tried to make me drink beer - when I said I preferred gin, they just crossed beer out on the bottle and wrote gin instead! Anyway, when we got near Birmingham I reprimanded them for not asking what I’d been doing all day and I told them all about Ovarian cancer and Ovacome. I was seriously surprised when they seemed genuinely moved by what I told them - they asked loads of questions and were happy to take symptom cards for their partners. We parted company in Birmingham with a hug and a kiss and I came away such a great feeling about sharing information about OC with anyone I can - everyone seems so receptive and interested.
Thanks again for a fabulous day and love to Alice, I hope all is going ok for her.
Love to all, Ali x
