Repeat mammogram - all is good, thank you for your support 😃

Following on from my post last week when I was recalled for a mammogram. I hot footed it from our holiday in Cornwall to have an ultrasound scan, repeat mammogram and examination. I was mega anxious due to my BRCA2 status but all turned out ok! Another stress but now a huge relief. Thank you all for your support.

That’s a relief!

My daughter is planning a double mastectomy this year and is nagging me to get one, too, but I am holding off for at least a year of no recurrence if OC first.

It’s a big op and pretty dreadful sounding, but she is younger and I am so relieved that she had the BSO part of risk reduction with BRCA Mutations, that I am okay for her to go ahead.

I will be on Niraparib, hopefully and they are using it in the USA for breast cancer, too, so...

What a worry!

Stay well,

Laura

Glad you are ok, I’m BRCA2 as well and I have chosen breast monitoring over surgery at the moment and it’s not easy 😞

Yes a difficult one as a mastectomy also doesn’t guarantee 100% that you won’t get breast cancer. I think though that if I was pre ovarian cancer diagnosis i’d probably opt to get as much removed as possible to reduce the risk. Now I have OC I’ll opt for monitoring instead I think x

Fantastic news. Now to enjoy every minute of your holiday in a wonderful part of the country.

Oops guess what just came in the post. Bowel screening kit! Well might as well get it done, just need to check with consultant if l should wait till after this lot of chemo.

Some how it doesn't seem fair having always done all the tests , cervical, mammograms etc only to end up with OC.

Lets all put on our biggest smile today with this lovely weather and live life. :)
