Thanks for the reply. I am suffering from fluid in the abdomen so perhaps in some strange way it is all connected.

My entire left leg - still visibly larger today. Happened almost overnight and it was thought I had a blood clot. Nope. No reason was ever given, but I have since found other people on Letrozole had similar issues. I am now on Exemestane.

Hi twofer,

I am also on exemastane. Can I ask how long you've been on this and what side effects you may or may not have. Thanks in advance. Gwen x

Hi Gwen. Since Dec 2012, however I am taking it for stage 4 breast cancer which is highly estrogen driven + the serous borderline which was found during a post mastectomy scan. Declined chemo. 4 years Letrozole and 2 years Exemestane so far. Too many side effects to list without getting depressed. To be fair, my body needs good levels of estrogen to function properly, and of course that is being denied through total hysterectomy and aromatase inhibitor treatment.

You did well 4 yrs with Letrozole. I only managed 15/18 months. My cells are strongly and diffusely oestrogen positive/progesterone negative. I'm not sure what all this means though. I am post menopausal. I don't know if the issues I'm having are due to the exemastane or not, i.e. I have like trigger finger and thumb and which is quite sore - I'm just putting up with it. Gwen x

Thank you twofer, hospital tells me it is not related to Letrozole but do not offer any other reason. I suppose in the great scheme of things this is just one little inconvenience to put up with. Best wishes.
