You need to have a ca125 blood test. The only Dr. I would let do a hysterectomy on me is an oncology gynecologist.

We’re not medics so are not qualified to advise what your letter means, I’m sure the admin team here will have more expert knowledge that we can offer. I think you need some more information so ask for a full explanation for the need for surgery and also clarification on the contents of the letter.

I don’t believe any medics do surgery that’s not necessary but you need to know all the facts before you consent to the procedure.

Good luck lovely, let us know how you get on ❤️Xx Jane

You do need to see an OBGyn. You obviously were having symptoms, and this scan may have found the cause.

But what were your symptoms?

You do not need to have cancer to be elegible for a hysterectomy.

You could simply have a condition that could lead to such terrible discomfort that an hysterectomy would be the best option to relieve your symptoms.

Hopefully, you have already had children or do not want any.

But, talking to someone knowledgeable is best.

I remember when I had a scan for some reason, I can’t remember what it was, but my doctor wrote to tell me I needed my gall bladder out and to call for a surgery appointment.

Well, I knew I had a gigantic gall stone sitting inside my gall bladder that had been there since I was 20 years old. It was a special kind that does not cause problems, but was formed from red blood cells that my body had killed off due to another condition.

I had to tell him that surgery was not called for in my case.

Your case is different though and you need a CT scan now and a good talk with a trusted consultant.

Best of luck,

Laura

Do not have any knowledge of this but I would thnk there are many reasons other than cancer for this report. Could you phone and ask for more info ?

It looks like you have fibroids. A friend of mine had to have surgery to remove fibroids but i believe she was also offered a hysterectomy.

I would ask your doctor to explain whether any further tests are required , to test for cancer (such as a ca125 blood test ). It’s difficult to say from the report , though I would expect your doctor to be very clear with you and explain the diagnosis if it were cancer .

If there is one thing I’ve learnt , it’s go back to see the doctor as many times as you need in order to get all the answers you need . Don’t feel bad about asking questions , it’s your right.

Good luck xx
