Hello ladies, hope all is well and you are doing fine. I was wondering if anyone has experince of increasing Ca125 after pap test or tooth extraction( with its complications like ulcers in mouth)??

My mom just finished her treatment in June 2018 with Ca125 9. Her last blood test in early sep was also 9. However, in late Oct it goes up 4.8 point to 13.8. She had lots of mouth ulcers in and tooth pain three days Before blood test and also pap test one week before. I am not sure if these could impact her Ca125 level. Her Ca125 reached 11 before surgery in march 2018 and only increase to 20 after surgery then went down to 10-9 until Sep. I could not find any relevency between Ca125 and mouth hygiene or pap test. I would appreciate if could share your experience.. many thanksXx

The CA125 marker can be affected by infection or inflammation so it’s possible that if the tooth removal was due to it being bad or infected that could have triggered the rise and I’d imagine the ulcers really won’t have helped. Your moms initial reading was incredibly low so any small rise would seem big I suppose. I hope she recovers from the extraction and ulcers very soon ❤️Xx Jane

Thanks for your response. My mom intial reading at diagnosis was 539 and after 4 chemo it went down to 11 before surgery. After surgery and before starting chemo it was 20 and again it was down to 9 at the end of chemo in June 18 to sep 18 but it rises within 2 month to 13.8. I know inflammation can affect it but of dental inflammation also could!?! Or pap test could irritate and cause minor inflammation in pelvic area

I have read that Dental problems can definitely temporarily raise the ca125 level. Good luck to your Mom. Try not to worry. Love, Solange 😊
