Hi I was diagnosed in Sept 2013 with ovarian cancer. I almost made a 5 year remission when it became recurrent. Has anyone got feedback on a recurrent ovarian cancer please. I have already take one chemo session of the 6 cycles.

Hi Roxy xx sorry you have a recurrence but well done for almost 5 years in remission. I only lasted 4 months after first line chemo and now on a clinical trial just finished 18 weekly taxol as part of it!

Psychologically I’ve found this recurrence harder in some ways than diagnosis but my oncologists are very upbeat and feel there’s a lot more on offer for me and they’re reassuring I’m not ready for pushing up Daisy’s yet x

Doesn’t stop me worrying though x

Let’s hope this round of chemo results in a long long remission for you again xx

Keep us updated and use this forum as support the ladies are fantastic and a great source of information x

Hi Roxy

That must have been bitter news indeed for you. Keep in mind all the advancements that have been made in cancer treatment since you were first diagnosed. XXOO

Hi, I was diagnosed in 2007, first remission almost 4.5 years, second remission almost 18 months, third remission (latest) 5 years 1 month so far. 11 years from diagnosis in Oct. The fact that yr first remission was long is good, you can do this xx Kathy. xx

Hi Roxy. That's a tad unfair, to recur after 5 years when you think you've made it out the other side. I can imagine what you feel like. My own recurrence after 2 years was quite a surprise as well, given the prevailing medical opinion saw me recurring no earlier than 6-10 years down the line, or not at all.

That said, your recurrence might therefore be very treatable. Maybe you can even have surgery? I could.

Love your avatar.. so fluffy (although those horns.. uh oh) ;) ). We're here and will help you get through this recurrence. All the best. Maus

Foxy hi

I’ve found this reoccurrence very hard, I had18 months NED and wasn’t expecting it. I have had a couple of setbacks with this 2nd line treatment, but it’s working midway scan shows only residual disease, and I’ve still got 2 to go.

Oncologist applying for PARP for next line of treatment, she is very positive that I will get back to NED.

Hugs Ellsey xx
