Has anyone had to take Bisphosphonates on 2nd - 3rd cycle of chemo? They won't administer it on the 1st because they need to check my reactions to chemo first and the Bisphosphonates could confuse any reactions.
Thanks

Dear Lymetree
I'm sorry you've not had any responses to your post yet. Hopefully some of our members with experience of bisphosphonates will respond soon. I'll list some of the drug names here in case that helps:
Zoledronic acid (brand name Zometa)
Pamidronate (brand name Aredia)
Ibandronic acid (brand name Bondronat)
Clodronate (brand names Bonefos, Clasteon, Loron)
There is some information on bisphosponates on the Cancer Research UK and Macmillan websites here:
macmillan.org.uk/informatio...
cancerresearchuk.org/about-...
The information tends to focus on the use of bisphosphonates to treat secondary bone cancer, but they are used to treat osteoporosis which can be caused by steroids, hormone therapies and chemotherapy.
I hope this is helpful. Please do get in touch with me if there is anything I can help with.
Best wishes
Anna
