Update....

Well been in hospital since Friday night, with dvt causing pain, vomiting and now turns out infection in picc line. So now had picc line out on antibiotics for bit longer and discuss next action before chemo

Hope you are doing ok now and that they get you sorted - what about a port? I had piccline done twice in same place as mine came out and it’s still sore and swollen over yr later so if I need more treatment I’m going to ask for a port x

I know I’m gutted, was ready to tackle the last 3 with whatever it could throw at me afterwards. But not this! Horrendous time of it. Can’t go home until finished antibiotics 😢 as for chemo won’t be able to have that until infection has gone ☹️

Don't worry about missing the chemo. Think of the time to recover your body a bit before you get on the treadmill again. Thank you for your good wishes. Need to buck myself up as in the mud pool again. Bloods down a bit this week so may get the cancellation call later today. Take care Sam. Soon be home xxxxx

Not fun at all! I feel lot better, still not 100% get tired easy, still a bit to go yet still on antibiotics which unfortunately they don’t make in tablet form, that’s why I’m still in hospital. Hospital drains me, no I haven’t but by heck...I’ll remember next time!!!!

Chemo was due last week and deferred

Cause I’d white cells which now I can see reason why, was due this Thursday but said not until my inflammation markers are back up. Plus I’ve got to see about another line in first.

That blows, Sam. Dvt stands for deep vein thrombosis? In any case, having an infection and hospital stay delay treatment must be frustrating indeed.

Hope the antibiotics help and everything will be back to 'normal' in a few days... and you get to sleep in your own bed again. xx. Maus

Just want to add my support and hope you have your own room soon and the antibiotics finish and you can go home to your own bed. So sorry you are going through this--like we don't have enough issues with chemo alone! oxoxxo

Hi Samjane, Sorry to read your in hospital with this infection I've had no experience with pic lines, I have a port for over 3 years with no problems, can you ask for a port?

It's good you are getting results from Caelyx I have had it with good results also, so hope you can be back on treatment soon,,,take care Lorraine xx
