I’m booked in at Christie’s for my first scan after three sessions of chemo , I’m already panic sticken. How long is it before the results come through ? Do you see the oncologist for the results ? Or the surgeon ? Don’t know how I’m going to cope .Thank you

Do you know if your surgery will be dependent on the results of the scan? ..btw results are usually available a week after at Christie's for which you should have an appointment also.I think I saw the surgeon for that one, but its awhile ago now so I can't quite remember .
Usually you would see your oncologist if you have a scan to check if chemo has done its work and decide next stages?
I can't believe this hasn't all even discussed with you, normally they are spot on with info at Christie's ... you do need to ask these questions when you are there especially as I am sure they know you are anxious.
Have you had a scan before... you should have a leaflet explaining exactly what to expect.... they are very kind down in Department 11 - honestly the worst part is trying to get the iodine infused drink down your neck!
Please don't worry, ladies on this forum can help with your fears and worries.
Stay cool and calm, you can get through this as you already have done with the 3 sessions of chemo 🙂

You should get an appointment with your Oncologist within a week, don't be fretting all will be okay
I am having my scan at The Christie this morning and I have my follow up appointment for next Wednesday. They prefer to go over the results with you face to face but you can ask for a copy of the CT report
Hi lovely it’s a week for results but you should already have that appointment for the doctor so seems to me there may be a letter lost or something x I’d ring the secretary if I were you to get your follow up appointment x
Don’t worry I’m sure you’ve smashed the beasts bottom and all will be going to plan x
Hi lovely, as a general rule they try to give you the results the following week, you usually see your oncologist for the results. If they’re really busy it can take a little longer to get the results . Try not to worry, you have a classic case of the scan jitters, we all get them and the waiting is hard but do try not to worry. Hugs and best wishes for a good outcome ❤️Xx Jane
