Hi lovely ones,
Hope you’re not too squeamish but went to the Real Bodies exhibition at Birmingham NEC this morning (really, REALLY interesting and well worth a visit!) and saw this, which I thought I’d share. I know lots of you have had your omentum removed or biopsied...I had seen pictures but was fascinated to see just how big they are!!
Wishing you all much health and happiness. This Saturday marks the end of my 8-month swimming challenge i set myself back in November 2017 in a bid to raise funds in my Dad’s honour, for Prostate Cancer. I have swum the English Channel distance 8 times (176 miles in total) and I’m swimming the final 2km at the Guildford Lido with all my friends and family there to celebrate. I have raised nearly £12,500 in total, the majority of which is going to Prostate Cancer UK. My next challenge, whatever that might be, will be for OC 🙏🏻 I’m pleased to say my Dad is currently all clear and doing well and may even get in the pool and swim the last 100m with me. Not bad for nearly 80!
Much love from this little mermaid! 🧜🏻♀️ xx
P.s anyone wanting to read more about my challenge or would like to support me, please feel free to PM me and I’ll send you my JustGiving link...I am so close to my personal fundraising target, which I hope to achieve by Saturday...don’t think I’m allowed to post it here....
Wow that's fantastic! Well done on raising so much and what dedication you have shown to completing. Wonderful! X x
Ps no idea what an omentum looked like so thanks for sharing! When you remove the emotional side it's all quite fascinating really.
It really is, isn’t it. There was a cabinet ‘dedicated’ to the big C and in it was an example of what primary liver cancer (amongst other things) looked like. My darling Mum died of this 5 years ago and I wondered if I’d feel emotional seeing it laid out so raw...but it was just fascinating really 👀
Thank you 🙏🏻
