I’m currently on Caelyx and have just started to get sore skin near my armpits. I have been prescribed moisturising cream by oncologist which helps but I wondered if anyone had any tips to help relieve the discomfort ?
I take my bra off at home but no way would I go outside bra less LOL
Although I am not on Caelyx I have acquired red sore patches under my arms and have been washing with scent free soap, using no deo and have a couple of vest tops with shoelace straps to wear instead of a bra. It’s gone down a little today so maybe it’ll help?
Hi. I've had two caelyx so far and skin ok but I wash with Queen of Allepo soap or liquid and then apply Udderly Smooth Extra Care cream as recommended by the girls here. I know there's not much left of Allepo after the troubles there but I had a good supply anyway. I should think that any wash products for eczema would work the same but I avoid steroids and cortisones. For healing I only ever use Calendula cream. My skin hasn't gone brown either. Good luck and don't worry about going braless. I'm sure that your family and friends don't mind and strangers don't matter anyway. xxx
Hiya. Have you tried using a crystal based deodorant instead? And/or donning tight camisols instead of a bra? Depending on how well they coexist with the sore skin area of course.
I 'enjoy' liver related abdominal pain sometimes which lasts between one to three days. Can't wear a bra then either.. so making do with camisols or oversized comfort/sports bra types . Don't tell anyone pls .
Hope the sore skin can be treated and you do well on Caelyx. All the best. Maus
Hi Scotty22. I had this too whilst on Caelyx. It's a bugger of a drug for side effects but worth it in the end. I live in Australia & woke up one rather warm summer morning, went to stretch my arms and it ripped the skin apart from half way down my side up to my armpits. Same on the other side but not as badly. I stopped using deod as I didn't want to put chemicals onto raw skin. Told my onc about it when I next saw him. He said I should've continued with the deod as it would prevent the caelyx reaching the surface of my skin. Took many months for the skin to repair and the redness to go, but it did. Best wishes. Pauline.

Ouch that sound horrendous I’ve got loads of creams which I’m slapping on at every opportunity. Thanks for the heads up x
