Pericardial window

Hi , I had appointment on Thursday to see a cardiologist on request from my oncologist . When I got there I had x-ray and ECG, then saw the doctor. He said x-ray of my chest was clear and also said that he didn't understand why I was there. He had no notes about me , so I presume he hadn't got my details from my oncologist . He want's me to go back in two weeks time to have a ultrasound scan .I felt so confused and upset. As anyone else had a pericardial window put in . ? Xx

Hi Juliette, sorry to hear about your experience. I can’t understand why they didn’t have your notes available 😕 The Cardiologist is being cautious.... but seeing as you were so breathless....Juliette you must go to see your GP or ring your CNS.

Sorry Juliette, I have no experience with a pericardial window. That said, it's disgraceful that your notes were lost. Lucky we don't get enough stress and anxiety with this cancer lark as it is, eh.. ;-/. That must have been truly upsetting for you.

Ah well at least he didn't need advice on how to tie his shoes, while you were there.

I'd cause a ruckus on the line to my oncologist, if I were you... insisting they talk to each other before you return and find yourself to be maybe measured for compression stockings this time. .. or treated for measles.

Sorry.. burning the midnight oil here a few days after my 3rd carb/tax(avastin) chemo, in a slightly cynic mood. Contemplating how to best illuminate the shortest unobstructed route to either of our two toilet bowls, in order to have a fighting chance to make it without messing up the flat, lol. Seems nausea is a thing after all, and so is explosive diarrhea.

I feel for you and hope the cardiologist is better prepared next time so you receiving the right support.

Be well. Maus (sorry.. gotta run...).

Haha 😂, your reply so made me laugh , . I went to get my picc line flushed today , but because of it being bank holiday Monday my oncologist wasn't there . I told the nurse about my little trip out to the other hospital and what that doctor said. I don't see my oncologist till the middle of June , so nurse said to ring up and speak with the onc ,which I am going to do tomorrow. Hope your sickness and the other ( going to toilet bit ), isn't too bad now . Take care . Julie xx

Good idea to call him. He will sort out the cardiology link, you'll see.

Thanks, my bowels and stomach have calmed down a bit.. though I don't trust those little buggers further than I can throw them ;).

Hugs. Maus
