Hi, did anyone have a high ca125 when diagnosed with clear cell ovarian cancer? I've been told that the CA125 often isn't raised with clear cell.
Thanks

Hi, I was diagnosed clear cell in 2014, my CA125 was originally 69 and post chemo it’s remained around 6. I was diagnosed quite early, my stage was 1c3. Clear cell is sometimes diagnosed earlier as I believe it can be more symptomatic, I know I was. Hope you’re OK. ❤️Xx Jane
I had a reading of 34 as stage 1C
Clear cell although usually low readings tends to be reflective in the number behaviour
Mi e was 43 when I recurred. During remission it was between 7 and 12

I will be absolutely honest and say that I have no idea exactly what I have. I read on the forum about serous and other things and BRAC (don't know if that's right) and I really don't know what they mean. I tend not to look things up as doctor google scares me. I did look up SUV today as it's on my latest scan result and was dreading the answer but now I know it's not so bad. So, I don't understand what clear cell is. My original CA was 385 and now it's 126 but I'm stage 4b. Some girls here have CAs in the thousands and are a lower grade. Guess I'm just a numptie.
Best of luck to you
Love Kryssy xxxx
Mine was 67 at diagnosis of clear cell stage 3c. They don't even test my ca 125 as they say it is of " no diagnostic significance". I am not particularly happy with this and would prefer to have the test.
Has my high reading helped?
You often give out info but get no feedback?
Just wondering.
Take care x
Hi Howick, I am awaiting my diagnosis following a full hysterectomy. I was just trying to second guess the outcome & the general info appeared to be that clear cell didn't raise the ca125 very much which seemed to be confirmed by most people except you so I guess I will just have to wait and see as mine was 1887 xx
Hi
I was diagnosed in 2014 with clear cell grade 4.
My ca125 at the time was in the three thousands. It came down to 27 after treatment but after a stable couple of years it gradually rose into the hundreds. This was the first indication of a reoccurance.
For me personally my ca125 count is a good indication of what the cancer is up to but I know this is not the case for everyone.
Waiting for results is the very worst. Remember that this crappy cancer is rare so the chances are you will be fine but whatever happens know that you will deal with it.
Best wishes
Juliax
