Clear cell stage 2A, anyone with same stage and how are things
Clear cell: Clear cell stage 2A, anyone with same... - My Ovacome
Clear cell
Hi Cathy! I was diagnosed June 2016 with mixed clearcell histology stage 1b, Grade 3 Endometrial CA. Clear cell is always a grade 3 because of its aggressive nature. I've done all surgery, chemo and radiation too. Feeling well overall and tomorrow I get to see my oncologist as I'm being reviewed every 3months. Can't say I'm not apprehensive! I try to live as normally as possible but the nagging doubts that it might recur are always in the background. It's a wait and see game I'm afraid! In the meantime live, live, live life to its full potential. X

I am somewhere between CC stage 1c and 2c. Grade 3 which all CC are. Different opinions as to my stage so I guess I'm considering myself stage 1 1/2 c. LOL. Didn't think there's much difference in stage 1c or 2a for treatment. Dx in June 2013 at age 51 premenopausal. Tumor burst in surgery and was densely adhered to pelvic wall required "dense dissection"in a word, it was a real mess. They took 34 lymph nodes bc of concern it had spread which thankfully were clear although oncologist told me he Couldn't rule out Micromets. Full debulking surgery. Only left the appendix, not sure why and then 6 cycles of carbo taxol which took over 5 months bc of blood tanking. Tough with neuropathy, joint pain etc. I also needed 2 surgeries for knee issues , whether related to chemo or not I don't know. One doc told me to do radiation also, the others I consulted with said no so I declined that after much consideration with my other issues. So far so good. At next check in November if I am clean I will be considered 4 years out NED (they're dating me from end of frontline). I am back working 2 jobs (out of necessity but make as much time as I can for life! ) You can friend me if you'd like some more "clear teal" sisters. Godspeed in your recovery! Prayers for endless NED for all of us.
Hi Martina,
Yes, that's the worst with the cc, saying it's always graded a 3 cell.
Had my TAH in January, then finished my treatment end of May. No offer of radiotherapy as my oncologist said they don't do that. Yet have read on other ladies stories they have had this too.
This is what I get confused about.
Good luck to you. May we go many years with NED. X THANKS
I am going to adk about radiotherapy at my appt on Tuesday. However I have read that you cannot have it in the same place twice-so if you use ot for prevention and the cancer comes back -you can't have anymore. There does seem to be a lot of ladies on the Inspire site who have had long remissions after radiation.
Hi, I was diagnosed 1c3 clear cell ovarian cancer in 2014, (there does seem to be a crossover point and difference of opinion where 1c is sometimes classed as stage 2?), I too had a difficult op as it had adhered to the pelvic wall and bowel, it was 30cm in diameter and it ruptured during surgery so I was in theatre 8 hours followed by 24 in HDU. I too had the carbo/taxol chemo and have now been in remission 3 years, I have long term effects from the chemo, permanent peripheral neuropathy, some joint issues and digestive issues but I'm really well, pretty healthy and love life.
I hope you're well ❤️Xx Jane
