Hair Thinning - Hair Fibres

Hi, just a thought....I know ladies often comment that they don't lose their hair but it thins during treatment and just wanted to offer a recommendation which you may not be aware of. Hair Fibres.... I first came across this in the state when after treatment I was in a shopping mall and there was stall selling this product. Basically you style your hair and then sprinkle the 'fibres' over. I was so amazed when I had it done for me I burst into tears and my hubby got a bit emotional. I used it until my hair regained it's thickness, usually only for work or special occasions as it was quite expensive. However, I looked it up and it's widely available, not too costly. Might be worth a look for any ladies feeling self conscious. Big hugs to all. Kathy xxx

I've never heard of this product but I've had a quick look on line and plan to try it out. My hair is definitely thinner than it used to be but that might be age-related. Thanks for posting!

Depending on when you finished chemo I found my hair did thicken up eventually but in the short termI found this to be a great product. Let me know if you do get any and what you think xx

I've ordered some tonight as have to move quickly as am going to lose it again soon. I'm over a year last May since I had chemo but I cannot really tell if it is thinner as I've always had curly hair; it grew back curlier than ever but suddenly within two months went completely straight.

I can definitely see my pink scalp and feel the sun on my head which I wasn't able to before, but whether that's because of the straight hair, I don't know. Will let you know how I get on.

Wow will have a look xx

thanks for that, I knew there was a product you can get in boots to cover the scalp and it isnt expensive but this seems much better

Thanks Kathy I hadn't come across this either. Someone I spoke to had her hair woven with other human hair instead of a wig ( although this would not have worked for me on carbo/ taxel- I was bald!)

She said it was expensive but she had had many rounds of chemo and I have to say her hair was thick and gorgeous!

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely look into it in case I am on a chemo that causes hair loss again. Not sure whether or not it is available in Canada, but there is always on line shopping Kim xx

It arrived on Friday, the day I had my hair cut short! A shame really as now I haven't really got a parting to do it justice, but I have tried it and I can see that it does help. I wanted to post a few before and after photos but I now realise I need a special app to do a collage like some of you do. Might not get time to sort that out until Wednesday.

I got some samples from a company called Toppik and I see they do a similar product for eyebrows. Mine are going to fall out again soon so I'll probably wait until they regrow. My eyebrows are definitely sparser than what they were before.

Hi Katmal x I saw an ad on my FB feed for that. It looks good. My own hair thinned with GEM, but now it's thicker and stronger. That said, I may be losing it all again in a few weeks.. x
