Just to let everyone know that I have received a letter about my complaint regarding my consultant under study giving me false hopes saying my cancer was gone and it is in the hands of the complaints department

Good on you for taking the time to make the complaint. It can take a lot of energy at a time when energy is sorely lacking. Not to mention the second guessing we go through at these times. I do hope you get some validation and there is a review of process to ensure no repeat of such events xx
I was under the impression that consultants never give you the all clear these days but rather no evidence of disease.
I wonder why they did that ?

I am just wondering if you really needed to expend your energy on this. I am hoping that it gave you some closure and helped you. I have always found the medical profession close ranks and stick together. They do so many things that makes us angry and leave us waiting for some many days for scans etc. If this has helped I applaud you. I am still angry with the initial doctor who misdiagnosed me. So maybe I should have taken a leaf out of your book. Good luck.

Hi Bobbyo, that was a big mistake for your consultant to make & it needs to be addressed. Far too many patients don't complain that includes me!!! I have weighted it up & decided its between fighting my old GP or fighting to stay well it has to be fighting to stay well. But that doesn't mean I have forgotten what she put me through I haven't. I often regret my decision but because I know from past problems with the NHS I won't win. They tends to stick together & your voice becomes every small when it comes to the health professionals. Well done for complaing because it is never easy and takes a lot of effort. I hope that you have a satisfactory outcome and that the person in question will learn frim this.
