Hi everyone just got a quick question to the lovely ladies that are having Caylex, what side effects did you all get. I keep getting pain in my side and can’t work out if it’s the Chemo or something else
Many thanx

Sometimes it's just so difficult to decide/ sort out which "C" is making you feel more c**p! - the chemo or the cancer..... talked about this with my oncologist today, and he just smiled and nodded..! Even they don't know for sure. Only scan tells all.
Everyone seems to get different side effects with caelyx. For some it works a treat... For me after two treatments I knew it wasn't working. No specific pains but feeling weirdly 'spaced' lost weight, muscle mass, red flaking feet. Scan showed more disease recurrence and CA125 shot up to 5000+.
They put me on steroids then and now I am on weekly taxol.... I know this is working better at the moment ... but its a big but down the line.
Despite your side pain ( obviously to discuss next visit) let's hope it does its work. Take care

Hi Leianne, I had caelyx as a single treatment 6 months one every 4 weeks with some success, I have just finished Carbo/ Caelyx with very good results but as Janet said when it works it's good but does not work for everyone, same as side effects the first time I had Caelyx had some bad side effect Pain, rash, also blisters but I manage the whole treatment. The thing is now with carbo/Caelyx I have had little side effects, a bit tired some days the worse is constipation. Can you call your oncologist nurse to set your mind at rest?
Keep your chine up and I hope Caelyx woks for you best wishes Lorraine xx
Hi leianne I finished 6 rounds of carbo caelyx a couple of months ago. Side effects were mainly fatigue and infections from low WBC counts. If you are in pain maybe worth contacting your hospital to get it checked out?
Hope the caelyx works well for you.

Hi Leianne. I had many side-effects from Caelyx but pain in my side wasn't one of them. Side effects were so hard to live with that after 2 infusions, my onc reduced the quantity by 10%. It was all bearable after that. Got me into a good remission. I'd do it all again.
Best wishes. Pauline
I have been very lucky. Halfway through 6 cycles of caelyx/carboplatin and no side effects at all, apart from the usual tiredness and constipation which I think is as much due to sitting around for three or four hours as it is to the drugs.
I hope your pains are sorted out quickly.
Diane
I am on Caelyx, or I was, I did not get my 3rd lot as I was quite ill after the 2nd infusion. I had to have 2 stays in hospital to sort me out, I see my oncologist on Tuesday next week, when he will decide if I continue on a lesser dose, or I start something else!, Most ladies seem to tolerate caelyx very well, I think I have just been unfortunate, I could give you a list of my problems, but I don't think you would want to know!, The pain in the side wasn't one of them. Hope you get sorted, xxx Jeanette
Hi, As you can see everyone is different and responses differently. HAve just finished 6 months Carboplatin and caelyx and I have to say have Had very few side effects. mAIN ONE WAS AND IS FatiQUE I could sleep for England. Half way bloods and scan very positive .CA 125 back down to normal levels and scan showed excellent results. Just waiting to hear results from end of chemo scan.
