Is there anyone out there that has ovarian cancer spread to PLEURAL nodules - that is the membrane on the lung side of the diaphragm. If so could you please let me know what was done about these or was it only treated with more chemo:(. Thanks so much in advance for your feedback. Marijke

Hello Marijke, My mother is being treated for OC (stage 3c). She has the same problem as you have mentioned. Spoke to Onco (Surgeon and medical), they say that only chemo can be done for this
I have been told I have pleural nodules but they are dormant in the context of an otherwise NED scan and low CA125. One of the registrars told me that people live with them for years and that they don't necessarily cause problems. Are yours on the move? I would assume that chemo would be the way forward.
Yes they are on the move. So is the ca125 and only just finished second line chemo in may. Hoping to hold of on the chemo for as long as pos even though I've been really well during first and second line. Surpisingly no side effects at all. Just need it to stay away for much longer
The nodes in lungs are growing as per Ct scan done Aug 15. Was on taxol but apparently we will be changing chemos. Have appointment next Monday with oncologist to change meds. Live in so California. Am asking for genomic testing. I have clear cell ovarian cancer since 2007.
what will genomic test give you? I don't know relation between gene mutation and clear cell...are there any PARPs available for clear cells?
I've had nodule on pericardium which was causing massive pleura effusion in my right lung but it's all gone after chemo. I was told it was inoperable but then I found out about people who had it operated. so perhaps do your research and for second opinion
