my husband has had episodes of unexplained extreme incapacitating pain in his left kidney area, he had a recent ct scan that was supposed to be with contrast but didn't have any injections. my belief was that to get contrast, something had to be injected. does anyone know if this is right please

Hi Kathypat

This is the ovarian cancer forum. If you search the forums there is one for kidney cancer and will be more suited to your questions.

Best wishes Fay

Hi there sorry your husband is unwell. I think for now wait for results of scan and then look for the site to suit you best. If scan is clear well then all will be ok

Each time I have had ct scans, they inject the contrast in my port. Otherwise you have to drink it.

HI, Each time I have a ct scan I'm given a drink ( yellow liquid) about a 30min before a injection. But I have read post on this site where ladies have only had the liquid not the injection. Take care Lorraine
