Lady liberty

Caught up with this lady, she's stood strong and firm in New York harbour since 1886. I don't know why but I find her breathtaking.

We fly home tonight 🙁, We've had a fabulous time back in the USA, walked well over 100 miles 😬, seen more wonderful things, been to many more places around Manhattan and it's surrounding areas but it will be good to be home to family and friends. Back at Christies next month so let the jitters begin 🤔

Me too yosh, I don't know what it is about her but she's stood strong and proud for so many years, the first time I saw her on our first visit here she just took my breath away, it was an evening and her torch and crown were lit up and I was totally enthralled ❤️Xx Jane 🇺🇸🗽

Oh it's the worst...but it's gone 9pm here in the UK and I'm miraculously still awake despite my 3:30am wake up this morning! Gets better each day. Safe flight xx

Safe journey home and great you enjoyed your holidays. I flew over that Lady a couple of time many moons ago on my way to California,had to change planes in New York

She's inspirational even though she's only a statue. The first time we came to NY we did an evening river cruise down the East River and up the Hudson River and when we saw her lit she just took my breath away ❤️Xx Jane 🇺🇸🗽

Jane so glad you had a fab time. I'm so impressed at the 100 miles walked!!! We are due to fly out to NY next Monday and are so looking forward to it. I haven't dared believe it would happen after all the ups and downs over the past 8 months since I booked this holiday but slowly we are really getting excited. This is so good to see. Enjoy being back home and I may see you at the Christie one day.....

Have a fabulous holiday, we have been here two weeks so it's only (?) 50 miles a week, not a lot really in New York. I'm already envious of the fun and adventures you'll have. The sights are just amazing, enjoy and send us photos. I'm back at Christies end of August 😬 ❤️Xx Jane 🇺🇸🗽

Thanks Jane. Sadly comfy shoes are all I wear these days, save for the rocking horse teeth rare events when I get my "wedding" shoes out of the wardrobe.

Thank you Suzuki, we've packed so much into this trip and are just a little sad to be coming back but also looking forward to our own bed and a proper cup of tea. Have a great flight home. It's strange how one icon instantly identifies a whole country. New York is a fantastic city.

I like airports but I know what you mean about killing time. It's a pity we have to get there so early these days. Wishing you a great cup of tea when you get home.

Thank you Em, The flight was fine, I just don't like the overnighters, I don't sleep at all so now we're both a tad weary but staying awake 😬😬. If you do decide to go to New York I really hope you enjoy it, it's certainly not a restful holiday but we love it, it just buzzes constantly and everybody wants to get somewhere yesterday 😊 And the sights are just spectacular ❤️Xx Jane
