Surgeons did a great job but now Ivf looks unlikely.

I've had my right Ovary and part of my left removed following two borderline cancerous tumours. I've always wanted kids so we've decided to try Ivf. Today they told me that with only half an ovary the odds of successfully retrieving enough eggs for Ivf is low. Less than half we were hoping for. I've been told to consider donor eggs but I don't know how I feel and it's very very expensive. I was hoping this would be quick and easy before my pending hysterectomy in the next couple of years. This journey just keeps chucking curve balls.

Echo jemima's words oc is not a straight path once it has its teeth I you but your doing great and hopefully there is a solution out there for younest if luck 🤗🤗

I agree with the other ladies, I hope there is a solution out there for you, ask your gynae and your fertility Clinic regarding the options you may have.

Hi OC isn't easy is it!!! I really hope you have other options, ask your gynaecologist/fertility clinic to see if there is a solution. Wishing you all the best and big hug

So sorry you are having to go through all of this at such a young age. Will you get any funding towards the ivf? I think I would give it a go trying with my own eggs first time, then consider donor eggs. I went through ivf at the age of 44 two years after the death of my lovely only child, two failed attempts with my own eggs and third time I was lucky to find a donor an amazing lady who I have never met but we keep in contact. The result was as in my name, triplets..........Rebecca, Thomas and James, they will be 19 this Frid and they are my life. Not once since they were born did I feel like they are not "mine". Good luck with both your journeys. xx

Yes I get the first round for free, then I'll need to pay. My fertility consultant said if my three little folicals (I should have 8-10) don't respond well the first time and we dont get any eggs then it probably won't work a second time so then donor would be my only choice. I have mixed feelings but hearing stories like yours is reassuring, thank you :)

Where are you having your ivf treatment Jen? My first two were local in Canterbury but then I was referred to London to the Hammersmith in London to Sir Robert Winstons team, they were amazing. xx

That sounds good. I'm at the Oxford fertility clinic, they've been great so far. I think they are part of the Oxford university Churchill/Radcliffe/Nuffield group. Bit pricey though!
