I was diagnosed with stage 4a fallopian tube/ovarian cancer in June 2016. Treatment finished at end of Nov and at this point in time I am NED. Today I played my first tennis match something I never imagined I would do again . I think I will be sore tomorrow but it is great to get some normality back! When I was first diagnosed I asked my consultant if it was worth treating, he answered emphatically yes, I am glad I listened. PS I won!

Oh plenty of that too!
Hi there, thank you for a great positive story. We all need hope & this gives hope!! Take care Cindyxx
Wow I am so happy to read this . I was diagnosed in march 2016 with fallopian/ ovarian cancer stage 3c. I had chemo and surgery but i am still in some pain and swelling and I worry alot . This gives me hope to continue to fight this .
Hey LPorter great to hear this! The surgeon told me my cancer was fallopian after histology on what was removed during surgery ( originally said it was oc after first biopsy) and also stage 4. I'm glad you had the ooomph to play and even gladder you won - an analogy of sorts! Keep on keeping on.

So happy for you! You go girl! I too am stage 4 and so far have only had a chemo. Have a scan 1st of Feb to see if they can operate or not (it was also in my liver when scan last done). Do you mind me asking if you had surgery and chemo. So wonderful that you are NED and getting back to normality. I used to run and am hoping to be able to do this soon. My last chemo is this week. Thanks for sharing your story as it really helps, especially with stage 3 and 4 as there's so much doom and gloom out there at times and I keep reminding myself that anything can and does happen, including the being NED and the cancer never coming back. Keep going and stay active as you are!
Hi there, I had 4. rounds of Carbo/Taxol then surgery then 2 more rounds of chemo. I was scanned after 3 rounds and no disease was visible. Only microscopic disease removed during surgery as chemo had done the job and there was nothing larger. At diagnosis I didn't have any cancer in other organs but did have lymph node involvement and a malignant pleural effusion which pushed me to 4a, originally stage 3. My medics have been very encouraged by how well I have done to date and have told me that they just cannot predict how people respond. Often patients who present with advanced disease do much better than those with a lesser diagnosis. So anything is possible keep faith. It is early days for me and the next year will be telling but so far so good. My oncologist laughed at me when I complained that I was out of breath when I was walking in hills with camera gear 5 weeks after finishing chemo. You'll be back running in no time! Good luck.!
Hi, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which metastasised in my peritoneum wall last September 2016. They started me with Carboplatin and taxol chemotherapy. I had 4 sessions already and had total hysterectomy and omentectomy last Dec.21. I went to see my consultant oncologist who told me the result of the histopathologist report on the bits they have taken out from my op. He told me I'm stage3c and its aggressive form. So once my wound is healed I will resume my chemo and that will be in 2 weeks time and I will have avastin as well for 18 cycles. It's so nice to hear from people who has the same problem as it doesn't make you so alone. I must admit before my op, I was very well and even forgot I have cancer as the chemo was a doddle. I did not have a lot of side effects like nausea and vomitting. My op was far worst than the chemo.
Good luck and lots of Huggs xx

So good to hear. Nice to get back to normal. I was diagnosed stage 3 after op for bowel cancer last June. Finished chemo last week, back playing golf etc. CEAcount down to 9 and a ct scan at Christies 3 weeks. Bowel area looking good according to surgeon so heres to a good 2017 with positive news for everyone. So much is happing in research which is promising and give you hope. KEER POSITIVE everyone
Thanks for your reply, LPorter. Great to hear all that. Yes, keeping the faith and hoping others can and we hear many other good news stories as 2017 unfolds! x
Congratulations! I was diagnosed with stage 4 in May 2012. I had treatment that year. I had a recurrence 2 years and 7 months later and had successful treatment for that in 2015. You may never get a recurrence. I am currently well. Exercise is anti- inflammatory so is very good for the body, as is good food rest and joy. Enjoy!!
Thank you for your reply and such a positive one! It is so encouraging for me to hear this.
What a lovely positive attitude and outcome. So nice to hear you are doing so well. It shows that if you are diagnosed with stage 4 it's the end! You are an inspiration to us all.. Xx
Great news! I am FT 3b after initial diagnosis of PPC. Cat scan pre surgery did not pick up tumor in Fallopian tube. That was Sept 2015 and so far so good! I am back in my bike for exercise and feel great. Good luck to you and so glad you are doing so well.
Brilliant news! Your consultant gave you great advice.
For me exercise really works to boost my morale.
Here's to many more tennis matches.

Good for you and such a positive post x
So great to here positive news. Think its important to be as fit as you can. I continued withmy golf through treatment, not always full 18 holes but 2 weeks after finishing chemo I played full course this week and won! So great to start feeling some normality as you mentioned. Still waiting for A CT scan date but hope will have a good result as you did. Yes you are a winner and keep that in mind.
Thank you Heather! It is lovely to hear that you are doing well to. For me physical exercise is as much about the mental as well as physical.
