Why?

Something that has been puzzling me, I finished chemo a few months ago, and my hair is coming along nicely, but why is the hair on my head not as long (or as dark) as the hair on my top lip?

I read "the gift that keeps on giving" on a post this morning, and I thought aint that the truth!

Lol, isn't it just the truth!! No one told me about the baby fuzz that was going to come back over my neck and chin either., I suddenly saw some very fine hairs and then (thankfully!) read that others have had this and some ladies use an epilator, some have them threaded and some cut them or leave them! Apparently they do go which is good!!!

I loved not having to shave my legs and that is a pain to get back into !

Have fun

Hi there, I am 6 years finished my chemo and still have problems with top lip and chin hairs, very dark and strong. This I believe is caused by the post op menopause and will always be a problem. I get mine waxed every couple of weeks to keep it in check. No threading, it causes the hair to grow back in all different directions, eek. Xx

I know!! What really got to me was that my eyebrows and eyelashes seemed to take forever yet there was a lovely dark growth (not quite sideburns but a good imitation) on my cheeks as well! Who needs Movember - we've got it covered ladies! x

Hair is the funniest thing after chemo,I had a face like a hairy peach(it all went) and the nerve of it,one hair tried to sprout on my nose, once plucked, never returned!!

Oh my goodness I am so glad I found this post. Four weeks after chemo, I searched daily for signs of hair growth on my head. I'd ask my husband to check if he could see anything. One day he said, "Well, I think I see some stubble growing there.....but your moustache is doing really well." And omg wasn't it just? Baby fuzz and long hair all over my cheeks and jaw and forehead, I felt like a freak. At least now I know this happens to a lot of us. One waxing took care of it all. It doesn't seem to be growing back. And my hair came in slowly, 6 weeks after chemo, not 4 weeks as they say. It has come in even, thick and exactly like I had before. No chemo fuzz. Thank you for posting on the hairy beast effect!

Unfortunately the facial hair comes fast and furious so use one of the milder creams to get rid of it. I am glad your hair is growing nicely so would advise you use plenty of conditioner as it comes along. All the best

Your post has tickled me!!

I remember walking past the mirror one morning and catching a sight I'd never seen before. Cheek hair like you would not believe. I swear the night before there was none! I looked like John McCririck, all I needed was a deerstalker hat and loads of bling to complete the look!!! 😜😂 xx
