Yes me too but I am okay with it at the moment, just finished chemo so I am just sidetracked at the moment watching my hair grow!!!!
Oh Jeese, the weight!
Get weighed every 4 months ,it's like being in the worst slimmers world in the world!
I make promises I can't keep so, I have just decided to get fit and strong and stay alive and if any weight drops off it's a bonus, but I need to focus on some weight loss now I have just had a good scan.
Seems like any advice is appreciated,
Carolexxx
Yes, just over 1 stone heavier, but life has changed no more getting up at 6am,off to work and back at 7pm.So that might be partly why. x
Yes it gets me down .... my appetite can be so hit and miss so tend to eat toast alot which is quick and doesn't take much making lol... I want to lose the weight but can't concentrate or decoy time to dieting when still battling side affects of chemo 😖
Hi ladies!
Oh gosh, why do you think think the wright gain ? I'm due for the debulking on the 22nd of this month, was expecting weight loss what with everything being taken away as it were!!! 😳.. do you think it has something to do with hormones?
Oh well, just soooooo pleased that they are able to perform it to be honest regardless of weight gain ..
Lots of love ❤️ Jackie xx
Bloody typing errors, sorry for spelling !!! Could put it down to chemo brain though !!!! Xx
When chemo started I lost a lot of weight but 9 months later 10 pounds heavier than at diagnosis. I'm back at work and trying to eat less but the scales say the same x
Really? Weight gain everyone? I have my surgery on Dec 6 and was thinking I would loose weight not gain. Amy thoughts why?
The steroids make you feel hungry all the time so you eat more, they also effect the metabolism and also cause water retention
Third chemo due next week and half a stone up already bahhhh
MamaJ, I've had 24 rounds of chemo, one radical surgery and a colostomy take down. I weigh 25 lbs less than at diagnosis. I am currently NED and pray that it lasts. Tesla
Hi there
I two large laparotomies in January and June 2010 and hang around to see how people are doing , but also to give a longer term perspective. I did not have chemo but have had ongoing abdominal pain since then.
I also gained a lot of weight , for me , and of course my stomach was something horror movies were made of.
However with time and despite being 7 years older I have managed to get rid of most of the extra weight and get back to walking swimming and in the last year Pilates. We also have a very lively two year old Cavalier puppy and since she came along I have done more and been able to do more.
I wished that I could wrap all the girls going through this nightmare up in the biggest hugs ever....but things do improve , takes time though.
Love to you all xxx
Hi Mama-J
Since starting treatment including interval debulking surgery I gained 10lbs, now weight is coming down post treatment.
I actually started gaining weight once they drained the fluid off as I couldn't eat before that. I am now 4 months post surgery and 8 weeks post my last chemo and have lost 6lbs.
Hugs Ellsey xx
No. I was underweight prior to debulking, even more underweight after debulking. Then I spent around 6 months deliberately putting weight on. Then I evened out, was able to stop trying to put weight on, and have remained at a healthy weight ever since.
Clearly it's different for everyone.
Hi. The steroids taken while on chemo does make you hungry.I gained 10 lbs. Now in the process of getting it off "again" after my reoccurance. Not easy, but l stay positive and walk 3 to 5 miles a day, everyday. Winter is coming.Need to get into the jeans.lol On a positive note, if I dont get it all off,I could buy new jeans.Just a thought.
Lost weight when first diahoniosd. Two years ago but since having treatment and hormone med piled it on but someone said to me if you are ill anytime it won't matter if I lose a little weight so I just put up the way I am at the moment
I have managed to maintain the same weight since surgery 4 years ago I didn't do anything to keep it that way it just stayed the same. I am now coming up to my 3rd recurrence and have lost 2.5 kilo as my appetite is poor at the moment so I am on steroids to boost appetite and will get my new chemo plan next week. Kittie
Hello ladies, I am due to have my Omentum removed on the 24th of November along with other parts. Is the weight gain noticeable whilst recovering or does it take time to happen ?
I have lost 2 and a half since being diagnosed so just wanted to know about the weight gain side of stuff....
