Wonderful , and so damn right ! Thank you all .

Hi Julie, I needed that for today thank you for sharing. Its not me, its my sister who is unwell with chickenpox and expects her daughter with three small children to look after her. To make matters worse she fell and wouldnt ring me got my niece to take her to gp. Now she hadnt been eating so is weak but she is so stubborn will do her own thing. I told her last night if she didnt make an effort to eat she would end up on a drip in a and e which isnt a pretty thought over here as its so overcrowded. I know chicken pox is weakening for an adult but she doesnt listen to anyone except her self. Then to crown it, a friend was told she had a brain mass, this has knocked me for six. So she is waiting to be sent to Neurologist. That is me done with the rant.

Rant away dear girl, rant away. Stubbornness in others is so draining isn't it. Sometimes you just want to shake it out of them but of course you can't. You look after you. My best wishes and thoughts for your dear friend. xx

Thank you, did a bit of planting although it is still cool enough here. Yes my sis is stubborn and always was and always will be. It is draining but that is life, My friend is coping she may be moved down here depending on what the team in her hospital come up with. She already has oncologist in Cork and gynae nurse so I advised her to put them in the loop. She is in her local hospital at the moment

Oh my goodness you need a massive hug ! Hopefully she listens to you and helps herself. I've had a horrendous week but that's a post for another day. I feel like the grim reaper xo

Yes feeling a bit flat but grateful. I think my sister is on the mend and hope to see her for a little while tonight.

Hi Suzuki

I read your replies and you were having a worrying time. Thank God you will have a positive evening and your worries about your sister seem to have lessened a bit. I hope your friend will have good news and that her condition can be treated successfully. Just looking at Dr Seamus O' Reilly on the 6 o'clock news and as always he is excellent. How scary that price determines who should live or die. It is really upsetting that new drugs can make the faceless rich even richer . We can only hope that in future breakthroughs in Cancer research will be made by compassionate people who care about their fellow man . Dr O' Reilly made a very good point when he pointed out that lowering the price would mean more people would have access to them . Of course to me that means that the greedy drug companies can still hold on to their money and make even more. Now I will get off my soap box and wish you all the best for the weekend.

Hi Molly O, I did read your posts but have been in funny humour all week until now. My friends cancer is contained so she must now have a biopsy. It took all the good out of my scan result. My sister is a stubborn lady, who had a bad dose of chicken pox then fell and needed stitches. So her gp did that for her as I suspect she refused to go to a and e. Her tummy wasnt good but she isnt eating or drinking much but insists on taking her painkiller for ostheoarthritis. I did go to visit her last night, she is dehhdrated and confused and should be in hospital. Her poor daughter is exhausted and worried. To me she needs to be in hospital on a drip and her meds reviewed. I was literally shocked when I saw her last night. I agree with you, it is disgraceful that the HSE is once again calling the shots. I think the Nivro was earmarked for those with Ovarian Cancer, or a similar name the prof mentioned at the Patient day. I hope if we put enough pressure on the Minister he might budge. At this stage i wonder do they care at all about saving lives when they wont give the clinicians permission to use them. I thought human life was sacred but it seems not. Well Daisy would be on the band wagon if she were still with us so I will email the Minister with an objection to his decision. I hope you are doing okay and not worrying too much and that you are able to enjoy the pleasant weather, Best wishes and sorry for delay in replying to you

Don't ever worry about replying to me Suzuki. You have enough on your plate right now . I do hope your sister accepts the care she needs. It is worrying for you and the rest of the family . I didn't know one of the drugs that the HSE is refusing to buy is for ovarian Cancer as they just spoke of lung cancer and melanoma. It did quite depress me listening to the news. Well done you for deciding to email the Minister. I should also do the same so will figure out how to word it. I guess the more the merrier. I hope you get a chance to enjoy the lovely sunshine. Take care

Hi Molly O, the name of one of the drugs is similar to the one mentioned on the last patient day. The news did not mention OC you are right in that. I am feeling a lot better finished my planting and there is a little heat to help the flowering plants along. I got two patio type tomato plants. I doubt if I will do well enough to export them haha I loved your description of your little visitor it is very uplifting, take care chat soon again

Just reading this post now Julie and it made me smile . You are a tonic and a vision in that ensemble ! I am still in my PJ s deciding when to have breakfast and knowing that I must shake myself up and prepare for visitors who will return with me after a family wedding next weekend . A week ago I was at a wedding of a friends son and at the end of June I have another one and then a family one in Sep. So now you see why I need to transform myself into a skinny energetic creature who will astound everyone . Alas I must dream on ! Take care Julie
