We are thinking of getting a second opinion. Can you all give some names of who has successfully done your surgery?

Hi ttucro,
Hope you are managing to come to terms with the diagnosis. It is difficult but you do get there and start the fight.
I haven't had my surgery yet, I'm on 3 chemo, surgery, then 3 more chemo. I get my surgery on Tuesday and I'm totally nervous about it. I have 3 different surgeons, one for my hysterectomy, one for bowel and one for liver. I am told they are all great in their specialist field. I just have to put my trust in them that they will do a great job.
I am having my surgery at the city hospital in Nottingham who have so far been very good. I even got a blood transfusion on Friday to build me up for the op.
Why are you thinking of a second opinion?? Are you not happy at the hospital you are at?
It's quite normal to have 6 chemo and then the operation. Do you have a date for chemo yet? It took me about 4 weeks after diagnosis so don't worry too much that it is a long delay.
Anyway, take care and chin up!!!
Mandy
Hi there, I suppose it is no harm to have a second opinion. Unfortunately I live in Ireland so would be unsure of who you need to contact. From what I can gather, some ladies on here believe in the Royal Marsden in London. There seems also to be a good hospital in Leeds. I hope that helps a bit
I would recommend the queen Charlotte hospital in Hammersmith every time. My surgeon there was amazing. Good luck x
I am not sure if we are allowed to name surgeons but I am sure that yours will give their best .Good luck x
I also recommend queen Charlotte/Hammersmith. Best of luck x
I'm attending the Liverpool Women's. They've been brilliant.
Sorry ladies, I should have told you I'm in US!
In the US see dr Dennis Chi at memorial Sloan Kettering
