Thank you for your post - there is good evidence from neuroscience that seeing something to be grateful for and savouring the feeling of gratitude, however little it is, creates beneficial neuro pathways in the brain bringing more happiness. It's about recognising and taking pleasure the very small things in life, e.g. cosying up under the duvet, seeing the snowdrops or daffodils (I live in London), enjoying the sight of them and knowing spring is on its way, relaxing with a cup of tea or a good movie or both!

When I start to pity myself I think about all the refugees and their terrible terrible plight - and to lose everything and knowing that your own and your children's lives are at risk whether you stay or go, and to have lost so many loved ones in the war - at least I have a roof over my head & free medical care - l feel grateful for what I do have and feel compassion for the suffering of others, including all of us with cancer. Love to you all and may you all have the right supports to help you through this terrible disease. xxx
