I signed this petition yesterday and thought I would share, after the announcement of the reduction of the cancer drugs fund. If you would like to sign and share that would be fab.
Thanks for the signposting to the petition. I've read it but haven't signed it as I hope there will be a petition that is clearer in its focus. For my part I'd like to see the fund modified to include other diseases without a cure and to emphasise that it's not only drugs that need to be released, but radiotherapy and other treatments for a number of conditions. It's good to bring these petitions to our attention so we see them and can consider whether it's the right one to support.
Thankyou so much for posting this I have signed it and shared on facebook. Afraid though I agree with what Whippit says about funding other drugs and treatments I still think it's worth signing this one. i campaign for a better, less 'post-code lottery' driven NHS in other arenas, but petitions with a narrower focus are also worthwhile.
Also - using social media it shouldn't be too hard to get to 100,000 signatures and to get a debate. The other way would be to get a few MPs to bring it up, but I'd suggest leaving that until we see whether the petition reaches 100,000. It sounds a lot but only 1 in 600 of the population - when you think how many people are affected by cancer that's very small.
